Every Child’s Hope (ECH) has long been a beacon of support for children and families facing challenges. With the opening of the William N. Dill Youth Development Center in April 2024, ECH strengthened its ability to provide critical services to under-resourced youth in Missouri, including high-acuity youth and those who have experienced severe trauma.
What is the William N. Dill Youth Development Center?
Located on ECH’s St. Louis campus, The William N. Dill Youth Development Center offers a secure and nurturing environment for children and teens. It aims to help youth process and heal from emotional and psychological trauma. Many of the center’s youth have had limited exposure to positive relationships and healthy behavioral models. Approximately half of the center’s clients come from the St. Louis region while the other half reside in rural communities across Missouri where access to specialized services is scarce.

The center’s expansive 18,000-square-foot facility is designed with healing in mind. It includes private living spaces, family visiting rooms, calming outdoor areas and both individual and group therapy rooms. Each child is surrounded by a dedicated team of professionals who develop a personalized treatment plan for their unique needs. By providing a safe and structured therapeutic environment, the center equips youth with the skills and support they need to transition successfully back to their homes and communities.
Comprehensive Services for Youth and Families
Through the William N. Dill Youth Development Center, ECH offers a robust Residential Treatment program for youth ages 10 to 18. The program provides specialized treatment for a range of complex needs, including trauma from physical abuse, sexually harmful behaviors, and developmental delays. The program is rooted in a family-centered model that fosters connection and healing through family therapy, engagement activities and reunification visits.

ECH’s commitment to long-term success extends beyond the initial residential treatment services. The center offers aftercare services for up to six months following a child’s return home, which promotes a smooth transition and ongoing progress. Therapists and care managers work closely with families to reinforce positive behaviors and provide support during this critical adjustment period.
Addressing the Needs of High-Acuity Youth
As a leader in specialized care, ECH has remained steadfast in its commitment to meeting the needs of high-acuity children – a challenge many youth-serving organizations in Missouri face today. The William N. Dill Youth Development Center is a testament to this dedication by providing a space where staff can offer the highest level of care. “ECH has always been on the front side of providing specialized care for all children, including high acuity children,” ECH CEO Julia Adami said. “Our new center was created and designs towards that end, and to ensure that our skilled therapeutic staff are able to meet the needs of all children, at all levels.”

By continuing to evolve and expand its services, Every Child’s Hope ensures that Missouri’s most vulnerable youth receive the support and guidance they need to heal, grow, and thrive.
